LLAG
What appears here is one photo associated with each site, chosen to be as representative as possible from the images available. The number is keyed to the Low-Latitude Antarctic Gazetteer (LLAG) database which is summarized at http://www.antarctic-circle.org/database.htm. Gaps in the numbering generally mean that no image is available for that site. In most instances the images are from photographs that I have taken over the years, early-on as snapshots, later as low-resolution digital photos and more recently as higher resolution digital images. But some I found on the Internet, often from Wikipedia, but also from other sources, many of which I can't trace back. So if any of these images need to be properly cited or removed, please let me know at antarctic-circle@comcast.net
Those images numbered 5000-5999 are ones that are questionable or can't be found. Those images numbered 6000-6999 are ones that don't exist or have been found to have no Antarctic connection or have moved or have been combined with others. Those images numbered 7000 or higher are located in the Antarctic and are best not included among Low-Latitude sites.
